Static Display and Parades

The Lighthorse have have been involved in a number of static displays and parades where the situation does not allow of a Skill-at-Arms display. The static display is comprised of of information and equipment used by the Lighthorse and troop members show the uniform as well as explaining the history and use of the equipment on display.

The Troop have performed escort duty and been involved various parades, including Anglesea 200 where we were honour guard for the Governor General, escort duty for the Tasmanian governor at anniversaries and agricultural shows and especially the Anzac day parade in Hobart where we have formed part of the parade for the past decade.

Because of our knowledge of horses, horse riding, firearms and military history, members of the troop have also been involved as extras in various movies and documentaries.

The troop are currently in the process of restoring a Universal Carrier and Blitz truck, (used by the Lighthorse when they were mechanized in WW2) and hope to have these on display in the future.
